Course Overview
This 1-day session will focus on discussions about the basic fundamentals of process control. Topics include basic terminology; process measurement instrumentation; controllers; final control elements; P&ID symbology; feedback and other forms of control; computer control; and digital signal transmission. The session will discuss concepts and examples of how various instrumentation works together to perform basic closed loop control in industrial plants. Attendees will gain an appreciation for the different technologies that exist for measurement instrumentation and control valves.
Audience: The class is oriented toward people who are relatively new to the process control industry or desire to refresh their understanding of the basics.
