Vibration and Condition Monitoring

Vibration and Condition Monitoring

In challenging corrosive environments, mechanical equipment deteriorates over time, resulting in increased operational costs and reduced capital returns.

Leveraging real time machinery health data helps operators better predict problems, react earlier and protect against critical failures.

Reliability is the key to machinery availability.

Operators often find that our preventative condition monitoring program meets or exceeds operations and maintenance goals. From online monitoring, to portable vibration analysis, our proactive solutions for mechanical equipment health analysis can eliminate unplanned production shutdowns, extend asset lifespan, and increase availability and performance of equipment.

Pressure Management

Pressure Management

Compressors require pressure safety valves (PSVs) on both the suction and discharge side to avoid over pressure scenarios.

Otherwise this could lead to endangering personnel, extensive damage to equipment, and/or costly downtime.

We have best-in-class technologies and years of experience with natural gas compressors to help ensure the safety of your employees and assets.

Our pressure management team has mobile service capability to test PSVs on site. This service reduces downtime and helps ensure your turnaround schedule is met.

Regulatory Compliance

Regulatory Compliance

Multi-sector Air Pollutants Regulations (MSAPR), formally called Base Level Industrial Emission Requirements (BLIERs), are NOx regulations for stationary reciprocating natural gas engines in Canada.

These regulations and will apply to all new 75kW (100hp) and above engines and all existing 250kW (335hp) and above engines. There is an 11 year time frame for compliance, mandating 50% of the engine fleet meet NOx targets within 6 years, and 100% of the fleet meeting NOx targets in 11 years. Owner/operators of these engines will have two approaches available to meet compliance, a per unit approach, and an average approach. We have the expertise, along with recommended third party qualified consultants, to assist with the detailed analysis and implementation planning. An early understanding of these details will ensure compliance by the required dates. Knowing if you have 20 or 200 engines to retrofit in the allotted time will be key to meeting your company’s and regulatory expectations.

We have the only patented rich to lean technology, Spartan Controls REMVue®, that enables substantial NOx reductions, fuel savings, and reliability improvements.

Optional ECO Plug technology extends NOx reduction and fuel savings for new and existing REMVue® AFR systems with non-selective catalyst reduction (NSCR) and stoichiometric air/fuel ratio control.

Combustible Gas Detection

Combustible Gas Detection

Natural gas fired engines that drive compressors for gas gathering are required to have gas detection.

This is because the ignition systems are general purpose devices used in Class 1 Zone 2 areas. Traditionally, catalytic bead gas detection has been used for the detection of combustible methane and other hydrocarbon gases. This type of detector has drawbacks such as the requirement for oxygen to be present for operation, a need for periodic calibration, and need for periodic sensor replacement.

Infrared gas detectors have the advantage of not being susceptible to poisons, require only annual calibration, and a sensor life that approaches two decades.

With thousands of these detectors in rugged environments, infrared gas detectors are selected because they know they will continue to operate in the most challenging of applications.
